Codruța Vulcu is the Founder and Festival Director of ARTmania, one of Romania’s most established annual music events. The event, which specialises in rock and metal acts – will proudly celebrate its twelfth annual edition in 2017. In addition, Codruța is the Director and Founder of the alternative and electronic music-themed Blaj aLive Festival, which takes place annually in June.

Both festivals take place in the achingly beautiful, historical region of Transylvania in Romania, and attract upward of 15,000 music lovers for each edition.

Codruța found herself surrounded by art and music as she was growing up and consequently developed an incredible passion for the arts from an early age. She has a BA in Art Photography and a Masters in Art History, from the National University of Arts in Bucharest. She has exhibited her artistic works in personal exhibitions at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Bucharest, as well as the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki.

Codruța has also been a press correspondent for various leading Romanian publications and has provided coverage for some of the biggest festivals in Europe.

Codruța has organised shows for: Manu Chao, Nightwish, HIM, Serj Tankian, Within Temptation, Die Toten Hosen, Jon Lord, Jethro Tull, Deine Lakaien, Awolnation, Seether, Matthias Meyer, Matias Aguayo, Kenny Larkin, 65daysofstatic and Vonda Shepard, to name but a few, either as standalone events or as part of the line-up at ARTmania and Blaj aLive fests.
