DokStation — Music Doc Film Festival - Partner Event

Saturday, May 23, 2026 18:30 – 23:00 · 4h 30min Control Club

DokStation  — Music Doc Film Fest, the only festival in the country dedicated to music documentaries, takes place between May 20–24, across several venues in Bucharest.

The 10th Edition For ten editions, DokStation — Music Doc Film Fest has been the ideal place to discover extraordinary stories from the world of music, inviting audiences to enjoy a wide range of musical genres — from funk to electronic, experimental music, rock, punk, metal, jazz, world music and the new wave of the ’80s — as well as concerts featuring SHE PAST AWAY  (dark-wave, post-punk, Turkey) and KUMM (alternative rock, Romania).

The documentaries presented explore the lives of artists who built their identity through music (David Bowie, Nick Cave, Boy George or Marianne Faithfull) and uncover either counter-current initiatives, far from major studios, or the stories of pioneers (Amadou & Mariam, KREATOR or Butthole Surfers) behind major musical movements. Audiences will get to enjoy the stories of unknowns who became legends and witness encounters between forgotten cultures — as if in an attempt to recover and reinterpret music hidden away in old vinyl records.

Electronic music, house, punk, jazz, traditional music, rock, indie, heavy metal and underground sounds traverse various movements and interventions in socio-political and cultural scenes that redefine freedom, visionary thinking, creativity and dignity — all intertwined with the magic and impact of songs and bands that made history, alongside controversial or reinvented biographies.

This year’s selection brings 15 documentary films to audiences, most of them in national premiere, featuring and about music legends, as well as concerts with international and local artists. Screenings and concerts will take place across four venues in Bucharest — Apollo111 Cinema, Control Club, Cinema Union and Club Expirat.

Please note that this is a partner event, separate from EEMC. Admission and registration are handled exclusively by DokStation. For any questions regarding entry or tickets, please contact them directly.
